It is a bacterial disease that limits citrus production. It affects the transport of organic and inorganic nutrients within the tree.
It is transmitted by insect vectors, specifically two: African citrus psyllid or Trioza erytreae; and the Asian citrus psyllid or Diaphorina citri.
